Thomas Cook are most known for being a travel agent but during the summer and holiday seasons they offer us Thomas Cook Airlines. The majority of their sales are part of package deals which includes flights, hotels and activities. I am not a big fan of people organising all aspects of my trips, so I just booked a one-way single flight to get a feel. A big perk is that most of their prices are cheap and cheerful but most of the destinations are touristy/not very adventurous locations.
Booking was easy as one, two, three online and didn’t require much hassle. A budget airline tends to not make things complicated as they want everyone on board and picking them. They keep their prices low by offering extras like meals at a price. I am pretty sure I got my baggage for free though (can’t really remember).
The plane itself was dated with basic features. TVs dropped down from the ceilings for the safety demo and then reverted back up straight after. Be sure to bring your own book/magazine/will to live. The air stewards seemed a little annoyed and on edge with most of the passengers. I understand people can have bad days so I simply put it down to that. Everything was grey with dots of yellow here and there (like specks on the carpet and seat cover accents).
Really uninteresting review but Thomas Cook doesn’t require a long spiel. If you get a chance maybe give Thomas Cook a try. I don’t think I’ll be flying with them again but for peak season and popular summer destinations they’re a good value option.
