If you read my previous post you’ll know I got to check out the United Airlines First Lounge. Right next door is the Club Lounge so I quickly popped in to see what the difference was. This is open for all business flyers and higher (also people who are advanced members in the Star Alliance). It is a large open space with big, glass dividers to separate it up.
Right as you walk in on your left is the food station. It’s buffet style and was constantly being replenished. There is no menu/dining service but the food here is adequate enough to keep you full. British biscuits, dessert treats, hot food station, salad bar and snacks are available. Then you’ll see an abundance of seating from bar tables, round circular dining style, sofas and individual arm chair pods. Most people were on their laptops either working or watching series. In the centre of the room is a large drinks bar and it seems the highlight of this lounge. There is a very broad drinks menu for cocktails and I opted for the United 25 (it was sweet). Then lastly at the back there are bathrooms (similar to in the First Lounge but without the cowshed products), a circular area with magazines and a television, and a small drinks bar for hot delights and cold coolers.
It’s a nice place to unwind and get away from the manic airport. I wish it wasn’t so boxed off from the rest of the airport though, I enjoy being able to look out and people watch through windows (the only windows here were facing the apron).
