I haven’t done a life update in a while and it feels appropriate to knock one out before 2017 dawns in. 2016 has been a strange year both personally and globally. Things have happened this year that I’m sure most people are still shocked about and everyone is very discombobulated. Here’s to a simpler, calmer and pleasant new year.
Having now been in London for several months I am definitely settling in. I still haven’t figured out my local thai place but I’ve got the tube down and can walk from a to b without looking like a tourist. I think next year there’ll be a large quantity of London posts so look forward to that! What’s new hmm, I started doing the Capital Ring Walk and am pumped to share that with you when I eventually finish it (78 miles is a long way) as well as day outs and general city highlights. Something in the city that I quite enjoy are all the cultural activities and art wanders. David Shrigley got his giant thumb erected in Trafalgar Square and getting to go see that was a personal highlight. Work in general is going good and I am making some fun projects and progress (at least I think so). I’ve dressed up as fries for KFC, got to go see a London Fashion Week show and even met Big Narstie himself – every day is something different. Other highlights – did a half marathon, lots of friends came to visit and I am an interior design whizz.
Future travel plans are alive and kicking. I am off to Rome for Christmas and I am oddly excited to see the Pope give his speech (such a bad Jew). Then next year I am planning a weekend trip to Luxembourg and potentially heading to China in April. I guess I should also assess my Birthday Bucket List and try to knock some of those off too!
Upcoming posts will feature snippets from Finland, Cyprus and Italy of course. Now that I’m better at juggling life, next year this blog will be booming and regularly updated hopefully! Have a great festive break and see you in ’17!
